About the Artist

Migrating from the suburbs of New York City, seeking the solitude offered by the North, Mary Jane settled in the bush country of Northwestern Ontario. Rich with wildlife, endless shoreline to explore, sounds and smells to absorb, it is here where she applied her artistic abilities to create a style of life. Spending hours exploring our northern woodlands, she found her niche - Functional Art - bringing the grace and beauty of the forests into the comfort of our homes.

What can she build?

All of Mary Jane's designs - from simple baskets to intricate deck and patio furniture are made in Mary Jane's shop from hand cut local materials. Willow is the primary wood used, with outdoor pieces oiled to prolong life and durability. Each item is sturdy - the furniture comfortable - and each design is a uniquely different piece of art. Mary Jane always has items available for viewing in her shop, although most orders are custom-made.
